“A Large Roof in Forest”

The project was started by the demand “Wanna enjoy the scenery”, “Wanna get on the roof”.
The site is located on the foot of a small mountain in Takamatsu.
The southern side of the site is covered with trees, and the North-West side is open to the city.
I felt that the scenery of trees and city could bring out the latent possibility of the site
by making the view cross and pass through,
then it could make the place more meaningful.
In a word, the aim of design turned to be how to get the unity with nature and the expanse of way of living.
Three pillars stood closely together in the living room represent family members,
and they not only sustain the large roof but also make the harmony with trees in the Southern side.
Not to mention making use of the prospect,
to mirror the topography and the relationship with ground,
building volume is toned down.
You can feel like tramping on the roof with enjoying the view of Takamatsu-city,
and the Cherry tree will make the life in the house well off.
